The Madras Players are celebrating the 400th Death Anniversary of William Shakespeare, with a Production of Romeo and Juliet, perhaps one of the best known stories in the world.
Romeo and Juliet is an ancient tale, of forbidden love and the tragic consequences that follow. One of Shakespeare’s most loved plays, the play has been performed through the ages, all over the world, in different languages.
The tragic story of two young lovers,who belong to families embroiled in a bitter feud, has seen many interpretations.
This production by The Madras Players features Gokul Anand, Namita Krishnamurthy, Yohan Chacko, Sarvesh Sridhar, Deepa Nambiar, Roshan Poncha, Shankar Sundaram, Gibran Osman, Prashant Oliver, Thomas Philip and Zubin Vincent, to name a few.
The play is directed by Michael Muthu. The performance is scheduled for 7:15 pm on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of March 2017, at the Museum Theatre in Egmore.
